About Nino Niederreiter
Born in Chur in 1992, Nino Niederreiter is one of the most prominent Swiss ice hockey players of his generation. Drafted fifth overall by the New York Islanders in 2010, he now plays for the Winnipeg Jets and the Swiss national team. In December 2025, he became the first Swiss-born player to reach 1,000 NHL regular-season games. An international career, with Swiss roots that run deep.
